Unlike other security companies, Vivint’s smart home systems are available to renters. Here are just a few of the more asked about devices and services:
Intrusion detection
Motion alarms and glass break sensors can notify you when an uninvited guest comes into your place. Get an alert to your phone if an alarm goes off, or arm and disarm your devices remotely to let in maintenance or guests when you’re at work.
Fire and safety alarms
Smoke detectors will come as part of your rental unit, but you may not get other safety alarms. Hang a wireless carbon monoxide detector or water sensor to alert you and Vivint’s monitoring experts to problems before it’s too late.
Indoor or doorbell cameras
Your security cameras can be wirelessly hung so you can keep watch on kids or living rooms. A doorbell camera lets you watch -- and talk to -- guests at the door. Watch real-time HD feeds and alerts about suspicious movement through the Vivint App.
24/7 monitoring
One of the benefits of using Vivint is the monitoring agents backing up triggered alarms. If a component trips, your monitoring team immediately notifies you to ensure you’re safe. Then they’ll quickly contact the fire or police departments.
Smart home devices
Home automation items, like smart lighting, can be put in to make your rental more energy-efficient. Some devices like a replacement smart thermostat or smart locks may require prior landlord approval.

Your Chico security system can be managed from home or away through the Vivint App. See HD security feeds, remotely activate devices, or program schedules for all your smart devices. Then allow alerts to your phone if a device trips or a security camera picks up suspicious motion.
